EXCLUSION OF PUBLIC AND PRESS
RESOLVED that the public and press
be excluded from the remaining
proceedings of the meeting in accordance with Section 100(A)(4) of the Local
Government Act 1972, as amended, on the grounds that exempt information as
defined in paragraph 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act, is likely to be disclosed.

Prior to commencing with the scheduled recruitment, the Committee was
asked by the Chief Executive, (acting on behalf of The Mayor) to consider if
the previous day’s selection interview for Assistant Director of
Commissioning and Performance had
been a fair process leading to a
correct decision. Following a
debate, the Committee confirmed that it was satisfied both with the decision
reached and that fair opportunity had been given to all candidates.

CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE’S SERVICES

Following the interviews of all short-listed candidates, Luke Judd, Gatenby Sanderson Consultants, summarised each in turn to the Committee including feedback from Partner panels: The majority of Members favoured James Kilner, although some put forward the case for other candidates. Following discussions around each candidate and
with input from Councillor Andrea Milner Cabinet Member for Children’s
Services, Equalities and Cohesion and Chris Pratt, newly appointed Director
of Children and Young People’s Services, the decision was taken to appoint
James Kilner as the Assistant Director, Learning and Schools. |

RESOLVED that James Kilner be appointed to the post of Assistant Director, Learning and Schools. |
